Bitcoin Voting Protocol · reference BVS · signet
Votes weighted by Bitcoin, proved by Bitcoin.
Anyone creates a poll. Anyone who controls a Bitcoin address votes by signing one line with that address — no transaction, no account, no token. Weight is the address's balance. Every record goes into a signed, hash-chained audit file; the poll closes when the final file's hash is written into Bitcoin. One missing record voids the poll.
1 · Sign
Paste the vote line into your wallet's Sign Message, sign with the address that holds your coins.2 · Keep the receipt
The BVS answers with a signed receipt naming the checkpoint your vote is in. Save it: it is your evidence.3 · Verify
Download the bundle and run the open-source auditor. If the operator lied, the proof is in your hands.Polls
